The Charities Ministry is made up of members from the Pastorate of Our Lady and Holy Family who assist the poor and needy in the name of our community. They do so by staffing our food pantry, and offering financial assistance.
Our food pantry is open Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. On Friday there are additional hours from 6:00PM-8:00PM with a bilingual staff. Appointments for financial assistance are by appointment only. A referral from Community Action is required for energy and rental assistance. A representative from Community Action is available at St. James Parish Episcopal Church, 5757 Solomon's Island Rd., Lothian, Md on Thursday from 9:00am to 12:00 noon. Referrals can be obtained at that time. Requests for assistance can be made calling Our Lady of Perpetual Help ((443) 203-1002) and choosing Option 9 from either the English or Spanish Menu. You can leave a message, and someone will contact you. Referrals are required for energy assistance and rent only. Other assistance that may be needed does not require a referral. No assistance is given for phone or credit card bills.
The Charities Ministry also offers a limited number of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter dinner boxes for families needing assistance in Southern Anne Arundel County. Our Giving Trees provide a means for people to purchase Christmas Gifts for children in need, and our Back to School Backpack Program offers the opportunity for people to donate school supplies for the upcoming school year.
